When a parent passes away, there can be a multitude of issues that arise. These issues multiply when a “child” (of any age) with special needs is involved.
One of the biggest concerns of families with special needs is what will happen to their child after they pass away.
Many families do not have someone who can care for their child.
Many families also do not know how to properly protect their child’s inheritance. This can result in a family member mismanaging the money meant for that child or the child losing government aid because proper documents were not created for them.
An often forgotten end-of-life issue is funeral planning. Without a funeral plan in place, how can the child with special needs execute a parent’s final wishes? And if a child with special needs dies without a funeral plan, who will pay for it?
There are many documents that are needed to create an estate plan that takes care of parent and child. This course was created to help families with special needs understand all the documents needed, when they are needed and why.
The course consists of bite sized modules enabling even the busiest of parents to consume the material when they have a break in their busy schedule.
